Los Angeles Engagement {Kat + Steve}

We've come a long way from playing MASH in our little circle on the grass... Well, let me back up just a bit. Kathleen and I met the summer before we started high school. At band camp. Yes, Internet... our friendship means so much to me that it's worth bringing up band camp... right here on my blog. {HA!} Our little circle of friends on the grass during lunch was a rudimentary, high school version of a business power lunch. ;) Cramming for our next exam, reapplying makeup, scoping out "prospects" from across the quad, and dreaming about our futures come to mind. Which brings me back to the game of MASH. No, I'm not referring to 1970's sitcom whose theme song alone bored me to tears as a kid. MASH {in case you aren't familiar}  stands for: Mansion Apartment Shack House. It makes me laugh thinking about it now... but back then it was more than just a form of entertainment. We were dying to see what life had in store of us... where we would live, who our future husbands would be, how many children we'd have, and what kinds of cars we'd drive. Funny, none of us wanted 8 children and a minivan??? {WINK}

Fast forward to the present. Kat, you've found the one. The one who stands by your side... the one who encourages you to be nothing more than your fabulous self... the one who takes all of the guesswork out of your future. I'm so, so excited for you both and I can't wait til your beautiful wedding day.

We started our afternoon in Little Tokyo in front of the very sushi restaurant that Steve proposed in... from there we headed to the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Bradbury Building, and the legendary Biltmore Hotel. Los Angeles is so amazing... we went from the most contemporary of settings to a spectacular historic building... just within a few blocks of each other. Before I start belting out a certain Randy Newman song about LA... here are a few highlights from our day... =)

 This last image makes me laugh. What I actually wanted was a serious picture... but Steve, true to Steve form, couldn't help but smile while holding the hand of his future bride. =)

Thank you Kat and Steve for spending a lovely afternoon with us before flying back up north. I'm hoping that one day you'll tire of that gorgeous Davis air and move back down to the smog. {HA!} A special thank you to my girls who made sure that Kat's makeup was flawless, shot some fun behind-the-scenes photos, and made it a truly memorable day!

Happy Thursday!
